Green Piece-Nez
Steampunk Fashion Accessory: Antique Pince Nez green glass clip on sunglasses w brass chain.

A very rare pair of late 1800's green pince nez sunglasses w brass chain.
The glass lenses are brilliantly clear with the exception of 2 teeny scratches that don't interfere with vision. When not worn, place chain under lens cloth to avoid further scratching of the lenses.

I've paired this pair with a great vintage brass chain.  It has not been polished.  I like them this way.  The bridge is brass,  pads are made of a black steel. I would not advise adjusting them.  Leave them the way they are. There is a break in one of the pads but this will not hinder their performance.

Pince nez made popular with certain steampunk/goth genres by Bram Stoker's 'Dracular' as well as by Lawrence Fishburne in the movie 'Matrix' as 'Morpheus'.

Pince-nez are a style of spectacles which are supported without earpieces by pinching the bridge of the nose. Named by the French – pincer, to pinch, and nez, nose.
Pince-nez were used in Europe in the 15th, 16th, and 17th centuries,
more modern ones appeared in the 1840s and reached their peak popularity around 1880 to 1900. They faded by the 20's.

These are an exception to my return policy because of their delicate nature and therefore not returnable.

Length of this vintage brass chain is approx. 22.5" long and should always be connected to a button hole incase they slip off your nose.
Wearing them this way is security against loosing them to the ground and breaking.
They do stay on the bridge comfortably,
as most pince nez bridges can be extremely tight and hard to adjust.
I personally own several pairs and these are not comfortable on me.  Quite tight and would be best on a bridge of 18mm or narrower.
Please note, on a younger person with tight firm skin, these will not wrinkle your bridge like they did to mine. On second thought, if they weren't tight, they'd fall off your nose.
The addition of 'stick-on' nose pads would help.
