60's Progressive Sun Reader
8 sided 12k gold filled metal frame from the 1950's made in Japan. Has bifocal reading glass lenses with a Rx of about +2.50 on the bottom portion of the lens.

****SOLD**** 60's Progressive Sun Reader. Always a hippie.

Just one of my alter egos...

Are you one too?

$145 1960's-70's well made 12k gold filled metal rimmed sunreader sunglasses with tortoise temple ends. During that era most of these were made in Japan. Preowned, in excellent condition, with existing progressive lenses, but don't let that scare ya.

The lenses are 'progressive styled' with the magnification only on the bottom which you can see in the photo. It's a lighter tinted area at the bottom of the lenses in a graduated circle shape and the magnification is about +2.50. The rest of the lens has no prescription. For those of you who use a +2.50 rx in a reader, these make PERFECT driving sunglasses. With no rx for distance and the close up viewing through the bottom of the lens, you can see your dashboard and the road ahead of you in one pair of specs.

If you'd like to put your own Rx into these, it can be done inexpensively through ReplaceALens.com We recommend them to all our eyewear buyers. Our frames (vintage & new) are guaranteed with a replacement or refund should their technician damage them while putting in your lenses.

The frame is sturdy.

The gold tone is brilliant, and the hinges are tight.

The existing glass lenses are virtually scratch free and are a dark grayish green tint. The frame is marked 12K GF on the bridge and the temples. .

These frames easily sell for over $300 in optical shops if you can find something similar.

I am wearing them for a point of reference. My face is oval and they suit me, I consider my face width to be narrow to average.
